Rev3 Quassy – Olympic recap

June 3, 2013 - 7:12pm by Anonymous (not verified)

On June 1st, some of our Yale triathletes headed to Middlebury CT for the Rev3 Quassy Olympic triathlon, a Yale Tri Club favorite.

At Quassy, the 1500m swim in lake Quassapaug is followed by a hilly 25.8 mile ride in the beautiful Connecticut countryside, and the race ends with a tough 6.2 mile run which includes three challenging hills.

On a beautiful spring morning – which became almost too hot in the last couple miles of the run – Francesc, Karlyn, Jon and Roberto wore Yale colors and had a great race, while Colleen was preparing for the Rev3 half the following day. Congratulations to Francesc who had the fastest time of the day in 2h23m, to Karlyn who placed third in her age group, and to newcomer Mateo Arellano who placed first in his age group with a 1:58:43 powernap.
