We had three new members of the Yale Triathlon Club, including one new triathlete, compete at the Lake George Triathlon on August 30.  Here’s what Elif had to say about her first triathlon experience (we’re so proud of you!!):

“I can easily say that the Lake George Triathlon was the most beautiful and empowering race experience I’ve had– everyone was super supportive all along the way, from my transition area-neighbor (on his 29th olympic triathlon, apparently) congratulating me on my first triathlon ever during our transition, to people cheering me and telling me to keep smiling on the run. Everything from the swim at the lake as the sun went up, to biking and running through the forest was absolutely, breathtakingly gorgeous! To top it all off, everyone gets an awesome medal and delicious post-race food.”

Congrats go to Matt for a top 3 finish.  And to Alex for a steady race, getting ready for Westchester.

Also, a special thanks to Holly Rippon-Butler, Yale alum and all around awesome friend of the triathlon club.  Her family gave us the real upstate-NY experience, complete with a lovely farm, tractors, ice cream, apples and corn.

Stay tuned, there’s more to come this season!!
